Travers Reservoir
DescriptionTravers Reservoir is a long narrow prairie lake south of Calgary.
LevelBeginner - Intermediate (when there is a wind)
Distance12 Km from one end to the other (from dam to where the river comes in).
Duration:This could easily be a day trip or a couple of hours depending on how far you want to go.
Access (Land Agency)You can take in at Little Bow Provincial Park - there is no cost to access the boat launch or beach. The last time I was there we used the boat launch but the swimming beach is sand and may be a better spot if you don't want to scratch the bottom of your boat.
DirectionsComing south on highway 2 from Calgary take highway 529 East. Go past Champion and then turn south on 222, I am sure there will be signs at that point.
